Wood LATHE
Have you ever wanted to craft a pen, table leg, or pepper mill? Here’s your opportunity! The lathe is an ideal tool for creating round or cylindrical objects. You’ll learn how to set up the lathe and use the tools safely. No prerequisites are required for this course, though some familiarity with woodworking would be beneficial
Learning Objectives:
Safe use of the wood lathe and associated tools
Understanding wood grain and its impact on turning techniques
Setting up and securing various workpieces for turning
Mastering basic turning techniques: spindle turning and faceplate turning
Creating smooth finishes and surface treatments on turned projects
Designing and completing a personal project from start to finish
Identifying and solving common turning challenges
Basic maintenance and care for the lathe and tools
Exploring creative design options for personalized projects
Once your piece is complete, consider adding a unique touch with a laser-cut design! Ask your instructor for available designs, or design your own and take the Laser Cutter Level 1 Class to bring your vision to life.
