Code Of ConducT

When you become a part of the Create community, you agree to be an active and constructive participant in our collaborative shared space. That means abiding by the following principles. Read them, question them, understand them. Any member of staff will be happy to discuss them and why they are important, and hear your input on how to improve them.

  1. Respect shared spaces and tools

Clean up after yourself. Leave things better than you found them.

Ensure tools are returned to their designated places.

If something becomes damaged, fill out the Maintenance form.

  2. Prioritize safety

    Follow all safety guidelines.

Only use tools you have been trained on.

Always use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Report hazards to staff right away, and report all incidents and near misses

If you are unsure, ask for help. Questions will be met with compassion, not judgment.

  3. Constructive and open communication

    Assume positive intent in others.

Discrimination and bullying are never OK.

Everyone should be heard and respected.

  4. Inclusion and diversity

We are all different. Seek to understand these differences and adapt accordingly.

Everyone deserves equitable access to the makerspace.

  5. Help minimize our impact on the environment.

Call out unnecessary waste wherever you find it.

Be accountable for your impact on the shared space.
