Access and Inclusion at CREATE
At Create Makerspace, we believe creativity thrives when everyone feels welcome, safe, and supported. For us, access means more than just removing physical barriers—it’s about creating an environment where people of all abilities, identities, and backgrounds can feel they belong.
Create is First and foremost, a safe space
This is a space for creativity, connection, and exploration, and we are committed to maintaining an environment where everyone—regardless of their background, identity, or abilities—can thrive.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for:
Discrimination, bias, or prejudice of any kind
Threatening or harmful actions, language, or ideas.
Unsolicited criticism or judgment of others’ work, identity, or experiences.
Any behavior that compromises the physical or emotional safety of others.
We encourage open dialogue and creativity, but not at the expense of someone else’s comfort or safety. If you experience or witness behavior that doesn’t align with these values, please reach out to a staff member immediately. We are here to listen, take action, and ensure this remains a truly safe space for everyone.

Physical Accessibility in the workshop
We are committed to making Create Makerspace as physically accessible as possible, ensuring everyone can confidently and comfortably engage with our facilities. While we know there’s always room for improvement, we are actively working to break down barriers and make the space more inclusive for all.
Here are some key features supporting physical accessibility in our space:
Step-Free Access: Our back entrance provides step-free access directly from the carpark to the first floor.
Accessible Restrooms: Equipped with grab bars and clear signage for easy navigation.
Accessible Handwashing Stations: Conveniently placed sinks designed for accessibility.
Well-Lit Work Areas: Bright, even lighting throughout the space ensures optimal visibility and safety.
On-Site Parking: Dedicated parking is available just outside for members and visitors.
We know accessibility isn’t just a checklist—it’s an ongoing commitment. We are determined to make continuous progress, and your input and feedback are crucial in driving our priorities as we work to make Create more inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
