Curious about woodworking? This one-session class is a fun, welcoming way to explore the woodshop and try a few key tools for the first time. Whether you’re looking for a creative night out, a hands-on project to share with a friend, or an introduction to what our woodworking programs feel like, this class is designed for complete beginners. Over a guided three hours, you’ll cut, shape, and finish your own wooden animal while getting comfortable with the bandsaw, drill press, and sanding tools — and leave with a handmade piece that’s uniquely yours.

What You’ll Do

  • Choose from several animal templates

  • Cut your design on the bandsaw with instructor support

  • Add details using the drill press

  • Shape and smooth your piece with a variety of sanding tools

  • Apply a simple finish and take home your completed wooden animal
