Curious about woodworking? This one-session class is a fun, welcoming way to explore the woodshop and try a few key tools for the first time. Whether you’re looking for a creative night out, a hands-on project to share with a friend, or an introduction to what our woodworking programs feel like, this class is designed for complete beginners. Over a guided three hours, you’ll cut, shape, and finish your own wooden animal while getting comfortable with the bandsaw, drill press, and sanding tools — and leave with a handmade piece that’s uniquely yours.
What You’ll Do
Choose from several animal templates
Cut your design on the bandsaw with instructor support
Add details using the drill press
Shape and smooth your piece with a variety of sanding tools
Apply a simple finish and take home your completed wooden animal
Who It’s For
Anyone curious to try woodworking, make something unique, or enjoy a guided creative project in the woodshop. No previous experience needed.

Closed-toe shoes required
Avoid loose clothing and tie back long hair
