SINGLE SESSION CLASS

Sodium Silicate Workshop with Ana Shoshito

Experiment with texture and take your throwing to the next level. Join renowned ceramicist Ana Shioshita for an evening workshop dedicated entirely to the dramatic possibilities of sodium silicate: a technique that transforms thrown vessels into beautifully crackled, stretched, and textured forms.

Class Overview

This specialised, single-session class is designed for intermediate potters who are already comfortable at the wheel. Over three hands-on hours, you'll learn how to throw forms specifically optimised for sodium silicate results, how to pre-trim and prepare your pieces, and how to apply and work the silicate for maximum visual effect. The session wraps up with an open discussion on trimming, finishing, and how to push the technique further in your own practice.

Please note: this workshop does not cover beginner skills such as centring. It is designed for potters ready to expand their intermediate repertoire.
