ABOUT THE Event:

Thanks to support from the Squamish Youth Council, we’re excited to welcome youth for a special hands-on open house at CREATE Makerspace!

This evening is all about exploration, creativity, and fun. Youth will rotate through different stations across the makerspace — from woodworking and pottery to laser cutting and sewing — getting a taste of the many ways people create here.

How it works

  • Upon arrival, each participant will receive a CREATE Passport.

  • Youth will rotate through stations in 10-minute blocks, trying out quick hands-on activities with our instructors.

  • Each time they complete a station, they’ll earn a stamp in their passport.

  • When their passport is full, they’ll be entered into a prize draw at the end of the night!

Sample Activities

  • Woodshop: Shape cedar curls with a spokeshave to take home.

  • Laser Cutting: Watch designs come to life with the laser.

  • Sewing: Try your hand at a fun fabric project.

  • Pottery: Get your hands in clay.

  • CNC & More: See big tools in action and create small keepsakes.
