Youth Open House
Discover, create, and connect — a free evening designed just for young makers.
Event Details:
📅 Date: Monday, October 27th
⏰ Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm
📍 Location: Create Makerspace
💲 Cost: Free! Advanced registration required.
ABOUT THE Event:
Thanks to support from the Squamish Youth Council, we’re excited to welcome youth for a special hands-on open house at CREATE Makerspace!
This evening is all about exploration, creativity, and fun. Youth will rotate through different stations across the makerspace — from woodworking and pottery to laser cutting and sewing — getting a taste of the many ways people create here.
How it works
Upon arrival, each participant will receive a CREATE Passport.
Youth will rotate through stations in 10-minute blocks, trying out quick hands-on activities with our instructors.
Each time they complete a station, they’ll earn a stamp in their passport.
When their passport is full, they’ll be entered into a prize draw at the end of the night!
Sample Activities
Woodshop: Shape cedar curls with a spokeshave to take home.
Laser Cutting: Watch designs come to life with the laser.
Sewing: Try your hand at a fun fabric project.
Pottery: Get your hands in clay.
CNC & More: See big tools in action and create small keepsakes.
