This three session workshop will provide students with an opportunity to gain the competencies required for a Wood Tools Level 1 Certification as well as build a functioning tool tote box.

We recommend this workshop to students who are new to the wood shop, or who want more supervised, hands-on experience using the tools in Wood Tools 1. .

2. Safe operation of Machine Tools (including Band Saw, Drill Press, Compound Miter Saw, Table Saw, Table Router, Bench Sander, Dust collector) and Hand Tools (including Circular Saw with Track, Hand Router, Brad Nailer, Hand Drill/Driver, Palm Sanders, Belt Sanders)

Pre-requisites:

• None. Students who have completed Wood Tools 1 but would like more hands-on practice are encouraged to join.

Things to bring:

• Safety glasses

• Hearing protection

• Closed toe shoes

• Remove jewelry

• Tie back long hair

• No loose clothing

• Dust mask (optional)
