MULTI-DAY WORKSHOP
T-SHIRT WORKSHOP
Learn how to follow a pattern to cut, sew and finish your very own t-shirt.This class will be over 3 sessions.
Learning Objectives:
· Make a t-shirt out of stretchy knit fabric, including measuring, cutting, piecing together and sewing.
· Finish the bottom and sleeves using a coverstitch machine
· Using an industrial serger to finish seams.
What to bring:
Create has some light sport knit fabric available for participants in a variety of colors, but if you'd like a specific fabric or pattern, we recommend bringing your own. Feel free to drop in and see our fabric options before class if you want to check!
Fabric requirements are as follows: 1.5 metres of knit fabric will be sufficient for most students to make their t-shirt. If you think you may need more, send us a message, and we can help you get what you need!
Thread, elastic, printed pattern, and all tools are supplied.
Learn your way around the Create Makerspace textiles studio and go home with a cool T-shirt! Participants will learn sewing terminology, sewing machine basics, measuring & cutting fabric, and choosing stitches. Great for sewers with little to no machine experience.
