Classes are limited to 6 students. All students will have their own workstation and tools for the camp. New sewers will make a complete project all the while learning how to use a sewing machine. This will include how to sew a straight and curved line, seam allowances, and seam finishes. Participants are encouraged to put their own creative spin on their projects.
Pre-requisites: Your child should be able to follow safety instructions, and be careful with hot and sharp objects.
Snacks & Breaks: We encourage you to send snacks and refreshments as it’s much easier to be creative when you have fuel for the brain! We will break for snacks and stretching!
Learning objectives:
Learn to sew and make new friends in a safe, fun, and educational environment.
Build confidence.
Projects customized for personal fit and style.
Ignite your child’s creativity and learn valuable skills
Enhance problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
Please note: while this course is all skill levels, you know your kids best. 2.5 hours a day for five days is a LOT of sewing, a lot of focus and a lot of hard work. If you have a kiddo who can sit and craft for hours, it's a good fit, but if your kiddo is more bouncy and distractable, a one-day, after school or multi-week class is a better fit. We're all about meeting kids where they are, but that also means putting them in the classes that they will have the best chance of enjoyment and success!
We will send out get-to-know-you forms before the start of class to learn more about your kid and their needs.
For older kids, check out our afternoon sewing camp.
