Accessing Create with Kids
At CREATE Makerspace, we believe in fostering creativity, hands-on learning, and skill development for makers of all ages—including the next generation! While our space is primarily designed for adults, we offer a range of structured programs and opportunities for youth under 18 to explore woodworking, textiles, and more in a safe, supportive environment.
Ways for Kids & Youth to Get Involved
Spring Break Woodworking Program
Looking for an engaging, hands-on activity during Spring Break? Our week-long woodworking programs provide a structured learning environment where students gain confidence using tools while creating their own projects to take home.

5 Sessions | March 17-21, 9 AM - 12 PM | $275 + GST
Students will each make a wooden mallet, learning to use hand tools safely and effectively. Perfect for beginners!

5 Sessions | March 24-28, 9 AM - 12 PM | $275 + GST
Building on the skills from Week 1, students will each create a wooden toolbox, using power tools under expert guidance. Prior woodworking experience (or Week 1 completion) is recommended.
Claytivity x Create Spring Break Pottery Program
This Spring Break, CREATE Makerspace is teaming up with Claytivity to offer two exciting pottery programs designed to inspire young makers of all skill levels! Whether your child is just starting out or ready to take their pottery skills to the next level, we’ve got something for everyone.

5 Sessions | March 17-21, 9 AM - 11:30 AM | $275 + GST
A fun, hands-on introduction to pottery where younger makers will explore wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques to create their own unique ceramic pieces.

5 Sessions | March 24-28, 9 AM - 12 PM | $275 + GST
A more advanced program for teens ready to dive deeper into complex pottery techniques, refining their skills while crafting beautiful, functional ceramics.
Intergenerational Woodworking Classes
Our Sunday morning family-friendly woodworking sessions allow kids (ages 6-15) to build exciting projects alongside a parent, grandparent, or mentor. Learn tool safety, hand-tool techniques, and teamwork—all while creating something amazing together!
Private Classes for Kids & Families
Looking for a tailored experience? We offer private classes for youth (up to 2 students per session), designed to match their interests and skill levels. These 1-on-1 sessions are priced at $100/hour and can focus on woodworking, textiles, or other making skills.
Youth Memberships (Ages 13+)
Youth aged 13 and older are eligible for a membership at CREATE when accompanied by an adult member. We’re currently exploring a buddy-membership system to make this more accessible. Stay tuned for updates!
