🎨 Private Classes at CREATE Makerspace

At CREATE Makerspace in Squamish, we know that creativity isn’t one-size-fits-all. While group classes are a great way to learn and connect, sometimes what you really need is a little more time, space, and personal attention. That’s where our private classes come in.

Whether you're looking to build your skills with focused one-on-one instruction, or share a unique hands-on experience with a friend, private sessions offer an easy, customizable way to explore any of the creative disciplines we teach — from pottery and woodworking to digital fabrication.

What Are Private Classes at CREATE?

Private classes are a personalized, instructor-led experience for up to two people. They're available in any discipline we teach — from wheel pottery and woodworking, to sewing, laser cutting, 3D printing, and more.

Whether you want to learn the basics of using a bandsaw, throw your first mug on the pottery wheel, or design a small creative project from scratch, your session will be built entirely around your goals, pace, and skill level.

All private classes are scheduled based on instructor availability, so we recommend reaching out a little in advance if you have a specific timeline in mind. Booking is easy — just email us at info@createmakerspace.com, and we’ll help you design a session that suits your interests.

Why Book a Private Class?

Private classes are a great way to explore creativity on your own terms. They’re perfect for creative date nights, giving you and a partner the chance to learn something new together in a relaxed, inspiring space. If you’re looking for in-depth, one-on-one learning, they’re also ideal for diving into a specific technique or project with focused guidance from an experienced instructor.

They’re a great option for anyone preparing to become a CREATE member — helping you get comfortable with the tools, workflow, and studio environment before working independently. And if you’re short on time but want to make something meaningful, you can use a private session as a small gift-making workshop, crafting a hand-thrown mug, carved spoon, or even a laser-cut design in just one visit.

Whether you're learning, making, or just trying something new, private classes offer a flexible, personal, and rewarding way to engage with our makerspace.

What to Expect

After reaching out, we’ll work with you to match you with one of our instructors, based on your chosen discipline and schedule. You’ll meet at CREATE Makerspace in Squamish, where you’ll have access to a fully equipped studio, professional tools, and all the materials needed to complete your project or practice new techniques.

Sessions are hands-on and completely tailored to your experience level. If you’re new to the craft, we’ll start with the fundamentals and guide you step by step. If you’re further along, we can help you level up — refining your approach, improving technique, or tackling new tools and materials.

Most sessions result in a finished object or prototype, and all include time to ask questions, get creative, and enjoy the process in a calm, focused setting.

Ready to Book?

Private classes are one of the most flexible and rewarding ways to engage with our makerspace, whether you’re here to learn, explore, or just make something cool.
