About the class

Our after school program is a 5-week cohort that runs every Monday from 3:30-6:00pm at Create Makerspace here in Squamish. With demonstrations and guidance from our woodworking instructors, students will use a variety of tools to make their own wooden boxes and mallets over several classes.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment and encourage students of all genders, backgrounds, and ability levels to participate in our woodworking programs! If you have any questions about accessibility or accommodations your young one may need in order to participate, please reach out to us.

Class is limited to 8 students. There are no pre-requisites, but your kid should be able to follow safety instructions, and be careful with sharp objects.

Snacks & Breaks: We encourage you to send snacks and refreshments as it’s much easier to be creative when you have fuel for the brain! We will break for snacks and stretching!

Transportation

Guardians will be responsible for taking care of student transportation to and from Create Makerspace at 39449 Queens Way in Squamish. As our program grows, we may expand to offer transportation support.

Q: Do classes still run on Statutory holidays?

A: Yes! Classes run at regularly scheduled times on holidays. Please get in touch with us if your student will miss any of the class days, so we can be prepared to help them catch up!

Q: Can parents/guardians visit the Makerspace?

A: Yes! Feel free to come by during our opening hours (12-9pm Tuesday-Sunday) if you would like to check out the space or ask questions about our programs.

Q: What if I am running late to pick my kid up?

A: Please do your best to be on time - class wraps up promptly at 6pm and our instructors are only scheduled until 6:30. We understand unexpected things can happen - give us a call to let us know if you are running late.
