SINGLE CLASS
Intro to WOOD Lathe
Learn the Art of Woodturning from Spindles to Bowls
Class Overview
Learn the fundamentals of woodturning on the lathe while building confidence with tools, technique, and form. This comprehensive Wood Lathe class covers both spindle turning and bowl turning, giving students a complete foundation in lathe work.
Students will begin with spindle turning to learn essential tool control, grain awareness, and shaping techniques. As skills develop, the class transitions into faceplate and chuck-mounted work, focusing on bowl turning and hollow forms. By the end of the course, you’ll understand how to safely set up the lathe, choose and maintain tools, and approach turning projects with control and intention.
This class is ideal for beginners who want a full introduction to woodturning, as well as woodworkers looking to expand their skills on the lathe.
